Residents in the Hall Road area will have noticed a change in water quality over the weekend. This change is a result of a pump failure in the O'Reilly Road Well, which usually services SEKID customers in Hall Road with high quality groundwater. Residents have been receiving the same surface water as the rest of the district since Saturday and are under the same Water Quality Advisory.

While it is not unusual for the well to drop out of service for short periods due to interruptions in the power supply, it appears the current failure is more serious and residents can expect the well water supply to be unavailable for at least the next two weeks.

At this preliminary stage it appears the submerged turbine motor in the well has failed. We are making arrangements to pull the pump and motor for testing to determine the exact cause of the failure. Once this  assessment is done we will determine the best course of action for moving forward.
