August 23, 2019
The last day of irrigation for the 2019 season is October 14, 2019. Irrigation Turns off are scheduled to commence October 15, 2019. This applies to all customer with metered irrigation services. Irrigating without an approved Special Irrigation Application is not permitted after October 14, 2019.
If you wish to apply for late irrigation, and you are not over your annual allotment, fill out the Special Irrigation Application Form and submit it by email to Water Operations Manager Andy Weremy at email@example.com by October 4, 2019 or a $100 fee could be assessed if the water has to be turned back on.
Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified by staff of the outcome of that review. Forms can also be picked up and dropped off in person at the district office. Late irrigation will not be granted to any property exceeding the annual allotment.
All landowners with metered irrigation systems are reminded to not blow out your irrigation system through your water meter or any other district works. You are required under bylaw to have a working isolation valve and blow-off port downstream of the meter. This enables you to winterize your irrigation system without needing the City SEKID office to shut off your main service valve. Not only can improperly blowing out irrigation systems cause damage to meters and drains, it can also push contaminated water back into the public water system and become a public health threat.
Damage to Ctiy works, including water meters, caused by improperly winterizing irrigation systems can be charged back to the owner of the property. For more information about isolation valves and metered irrigation systems follow this link.
